The Evolution of GA Carpet Recovery Center
GA Recycling and Waste Control (GRWC) was founded in the mid-90s by Amir Sahebdivani, initially collecting carpet for a chemical recycling facility in Augusta, GA. When the plant closed, a new partnership with Wellman, Inc. in South Carolina led to the first-ever mechanical carpet recycling process, developed at the GRWC warehouse in Atlanta.
As the process evolved, Kent Singleton joined in 2006, bringing expertise that improved efficiency and production. Following the 2009 market crash, GRWC relocated its processing line to Wellman’s facility, and the company rebranded as GA Carpet Recovery Center (GCRC), with Amir and Kent becoming business partners.
With growing demand, Hose Divani joined, leveraging his waste industry background to accelerate expansion. By 2014, GCRC outgrew its 16,000 sq. ft. space and moved to a new 46,000 sq. ft. facility in East Point. Today, GCRC operates a fleet of 3 tractors, 70 trailers, and a dedicated team of 10 full-time employees, serving the Southeast with efficient, large-scale carpet recycling solutions.
