What Recycled Carpet Becomes
People ask the same question every time: “What happens to the carpet after you pick it up?” Fair. Nobody wants their “recycling” to be a feel-good story that ends in a landfill. After processing, recovered Read more
Unlike general waste processors, we focus exclusively on carpet and pad materials. Bulk processing allows us to offer lower costs compared to landfill fees.
We keep thousands of tons of carpet away from landfills, reducing waste and helping to re-purpose otherwise-problematic materials into useful sustainable resources.
We are adept in assisting large & complex projects and provide an efficient service to ensure a smooth, hassle-free & carpet disposal process from start to finish.
Georgia Recycling and Waste Control (GRWC) started in the mid-90s by founder Amir Sahebdivani. He began his carpet collection to feed a large chemical recycling facility in Augusta, Ga. but that plant only stayed open for a short period of time.
Shortly after, a partnership formed with Wellman, Inc, a large plastic processor located in South Carolina. Together, they developed the first process for the mechanical recycling of carpet which was installed at the GRWC warehouse in Atlanta. Over the years, we’ve improved & refined this process into the leading solution it is today.
In 2006, Kent Singleton joined Georgia Recycling and Waste Control. With his expertise and maintenance background, Kent elevated the process to achieve new heights and exceed targets in quality and production.
As collection expanded, Hose Divani and his background in the waste industry helped expedite company expansion until we outgrew the original 16,000 sq ft facility.
In 2009, the decision was made to dismantle the old processing line and move it to a new facility; Wellman’s plant in South Carolina.

The dynamic shifted and so did the name. In 2009, Georgia Recycling and Waste Control became Georgia Carpet Recovery Center (GCRC) when Kent and Amir became official business partners. In 2014, GCRC moved from Atlanta to the neighboring city of East Point and a newer 46,000 sq ft warehouse more suited to our growing industrial requirements.
