About Us
Georgia Recycling and Waste Control (GRWC) was founded in the mid-1990s by Amir Sahebdivani. He began collecting carpet to supply a large chemical recycling facility in Augusta, Georgia, but that plant remained open only briefly.
Shortly after, GRWC formed a partnership with Wellman, Inc., a large plastic processor in South Carolina. Together, they developed an early mechanical carpet-recycling process, which was installed at the GRWC warehouse in Atlanta. Over the years, we have improved and refined that process into the leading solution it is today.

In 2006, Kent Singleton joined Georgia Recycling and Waste Control. With his expertise and maintenance background, Kent elevated the process to achieve new heights and exceed targets in quality and production.
In 2009, the old processing line was dismantled and moved to a new facility at Wellman’s plant in South Carolina.
When the business changed, so did its name. In 2009, Georgia Recycling and Waste Control became Georgia Carpet Recovery Center (GCRC), and Kent and Amir became official business partners.
As collection expanded, Hose Divani brought waste-industry experience that helped accelerate the company’s growth until we outgrew the original 16,000-square-foot facility.
In 2014, GCRC moved from Atlanta to neighboring East Point, into a newer 46,000-square-foot warehouse better suited to our growing industrial needs.
As of 2025, Georgia Carpet Recovery Center operates a professional fleet of three tractors, 70 trailers, and 10 dedicated full-time employees serving the carpet and pad industry throughout Georgia.
